A virtual girlfriend online, free before you spend anything

The panel opens without a card. This page sets out exactly what the free side covers, what it does not, and the point at which the upgrade starts asking.

Every face on this panel is a fictional AI character, never a real person.

02The detail

Where free stops being a trial and starts being a limit

Free in this category means one of two things, and the difference is the only thing worth checking before you start.

The honest version is what you get here: a virtual girlfriend online free at the door, with browsing, character selection and real conversations costing nothing and asking for no card. The dishonest version is a countdown dressed up as a welcome — three warm replies, then a wall in the middle of a sentence. You can usually tell within the first ten minutes which one you have opened.

The limit on the free side is depth rather than time. Conversations do not expire and the roster is not fenced off, but the heaviest features — the ones that lean on longer memory and richer generation — sit behind an optional upgrade. That price is shown before you choose it, which is the part that matters. A paywall that appears mid-conversation has already told you what it thinks of you.

So the practical advice is simple. Spend the first evening entirely on the free side, pick the character whose writing you actually enjoy arguing with, and only then decide whether the upgrade buys you anything you missed. Most people find out in one sitting, and nobody needs a card to find out.

What works well

  • Entry, browsing and first conversations cost nothing
  • No card details requested before you have read a single reply
  • Threads do not expire when a trial clock runs out
  • The upgrade price is shown up front, never mid-sentence
  • Everything runs in a browser tab, so there is nothing to uninstall

Worth knowing first

  • The deepest memory and generation features are part of the paid tier
  • Every character is fictional — nobody is behind the door
  • Free does not mean unlimited, and the site does not pretend otherwise
  • Strictly 18+, with an age notice before anything loads

Who is on the free side of the panel

The roster is not fenced. These three answer the buzzer whether or not you have ever paid for anything.

Free does not mean a smaller cast — the same characters, the same writing.

One evening on the free side is usually enough to know if you want more.

04In practice

What a free first evening actually looks like

You confirm you are 18, the panel loads, and you read four or five characters before ringing one. The first exchange runs like any other conversation: she asks something, you answer badly, she pushes. Twenty minutes in you have either found the writing enjoyable or you have not, and neither outcome has cost you anything.

If you come back the next night, the thread is where you left it. That is the moment most people decide, because it is the first time the free tier proves it kept something rather than resetting you to a blank greeting — and it is also where the upgrade finally makes an argument for itself.

Free entry — the questions that come first

01

Is a virtual girlfriend online free forever, or just at the start?

Entry stays free. Browsing the panel, choosing characters and holding conversations do not expire after a trial window. What the paid tier adds is depth — longer memory and richer generation — and you can keep using the free side indefinitely without it.
02

Will I be asked for a card before I can read a reply?

No. Nothing asks for payment details at the door. You confirm you are 18, the roster loads, and conversations start from there. The upgrade is offered later, with its price visible before you agree to anything.
03

What exactly is behind the paid upgrade?

Mainly the heavy features: extended memory across long threads and the more expensive generation modes. Everything the page describes as free — the roster, the conversations, the tone controls — stays available whether or not you ever pay.
04

Does the free side use a smaller or worse cast of characters?

No. The same characters answer regardless of tier. Nobody is locked in a separate paid roster, which is deliberate: fencing the cast is how these products push an upgrade before you know whether you like the writing.
05

Can I stop without cancelling anything?

Yes. There is no installed app to remove and no subscription running by default on the free side, so stopping means closing the tab. If you did upgrade, the subscription is managed where you bought it and ends when you cancel it.

07Come in

Try the free side tonight

Confirm you are 18, pick whoever reads well and talk for an evening. No card at the door, nothing installed, and no clock counting down mid-sentence.
